full-day training in partnership with the Northern Rivers Sexual Abuse Treatment Program:
Risk and Resiliency in Child Sexual Abuse: How to Help Children Heal and Protect Them from Harm
Date & Time: Friday, June 6th, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Location: Stockade 101 Room, Schenectady County Community College
This free training is open to professionals who work with children and families. The day will include in-depth training and practical guidance on the following key topics:
- How to recognize warning signs and symptoms of sexual abuse, including types of disclosures
- Best practices for responding to disclosures, and how to collaborate effectively with the CAC and SATP
- The effects of media and pornography exposure on children
- The reunification process between child victims and their offenders and ways to support the healing process
